Robins U8s Red won silver in their N Wilts Trophy Event at the weekend and it's fair to say their coach was quite chuffed! Here's his report on the day's events
What a fantastic day for our Robins Red team. This was our first tournament of the season, and the boys walked away with their first piece of silverware — a brilliant achievement and something each of you should feel incredibly proud of. From the very first whistle, the team showed focus, energy, and togetherness. Tournaments can be intense, but you rose to the challenge with hard work, determination, and a positive attitude. As the games went on, you kept your momentum and supported one another beautifully.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing goals shared across the team. That tells us everything about how well you are working for each other. We also saw some excellent passing combinations and brave defending throughout the tournament.
A special mention to Henry, who continues to grow in confidence. His saves and calm presence helped us secure important clean sheets. Well done, Henry — keep building on this. Every goal today showed how much each player is growing — great decisions, great teamwork, and great confidence. All the goals were special, and I would like to give a big shout‑out to Leo for his first goal of the season. Brilliant timing on the run and a calm, composed finish. Well done, Leo. I also want to highlight Rex, who put in some excellent defensive work. He mixed strong tackles with clever overlapping runs and even got a few shots away. None found the net this time, but the intent and positivity were fantastic to see. Keep it up, Rex.
Because everyone played so brilliantly today, I could easily go on naming each of you for the great things you did. If I carried on, we would be here for three pages, so I will stop here — but please know that every single one of you contributed to this performance.
